Audacity is a free, easy-to-use and multilingual audio editor and recorder for Windows, Mac OS X, GNU/Linux and other operating systems.
You can use Audacity to:
•Record live audio.
•Noise removal.
•Convert tapes and records into digital recordings or CDs.
•Edit Ogg Vorbis, MP3, WAV or AIFF sound files.
•Cut, copy, splice or mix sounds together.
•Change the speed or pitch of a recording.
This is the program that I have personally used to create ringtones (mp3 files) for my cellphone and it works great!.

Apple presented their brand new iOS 5 with the iPhone 4S,
finally they got close to the Samsung Galaxy S II.
They presented a new service called iCloud that is similar to Dropbox, to keep documents sincronized among different devices, other new feature is Siri the voice assistant that is still in Beta testing.

7-Zip is open source software.
7-zip is a compression / decompression program that handles ZIP, RAR, CAB, GZIP, BZIP2 and TAR, as well as its own format, 7z.
According to the author, using this format (7z) compresses between 30% and 50% more than the original ZIP format.
Also allows to check the integrity of the archives in any format.
7-Zip works in Windows 7 / Vista / XP / 2008 / 2003 / 2000 / NT / ME / 98. There is a port of the command line version to Linux/Unix.

Clonezilla allows you to do bare metal backup and recovery.
This is really useful when you want to do a major software or hardware changes.
Using Clonezilla you can create an image of all your Operating System that is already installed on your computer.
You will need an external hard drive with enough capacity of free space to store all your hard drive files.
Other advantage of using this amazing and free tool is that you don´t have to spend more than 4 hours installing the Operating System, patches, your favorites applications etc.
